hello!

I have no idea what I'll do with my blog - Other than rant & rave about things I come across.
Currently I am reading A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. It is about the coming together of 4 people in 1975 India. It's a very moving story as we see each of their lives played out from before birth on & is interspersed with history to give it an even more real sense of how everyone must have felt at that point. The people have to deal daily with the suffering induced by the caste system and years of oppression.

I recently started a new job that has given me the gift of working with some very genuine, kind & beautiful people who are also from India. My reading this book wasn't intentional (I have a nasty habit of picking up a book without really knowing what it's about) but working with them and getting to know them & their culture has given me a better insight into this book, and vice versa.

If you've read this book I'd appreciate your insight on it, as well as any recommendations for further reading. If you haven't read this book, you can pick it up here.
