divali!!
my Hindi friends at work invited myself & my family to celebrate with their family for divali or the five day festival that means the "row of lighted lamps". It's as important to them as Christmas is (should be) to us.
Shyam's wife Pushpa made the MOST delicious food, and they were so nice and welcoming. Arch was also there and so were many more of colleagues. People drove from North Carolina & Atlanta to attend and it was indeed worth it.
Shyam and Pushpa just recently moved into their first house since moving to the states - and it is a sight to see! It's so big & spacious - so beautiful! They share the house with their two kids - Pratik & Surbhi. The kids are also beautiful & kind, just like their parents.
We really feel lucky to have made such good friends with such wonderful people!!
Their culture is so fascinating to me. They really seem just to live their life as the very best people they can be - and they are SO good at it!! :)
